Adding a welcome page
A welcome page is a great way to engage your learners and share important information before they begin the test.
For example, you can share a short video introducing learners to the quiz or add instructions to help them prepare.
FlexiQuiz lets you add videos, images, audio, and text in any language to create a personalized, engaging experience for your learners.
This guide shows you how to add and customize a welcome page to your FlexiQuiz content.
How to add a welcome screen - New create screen 2026
- Go to the Create tab on your quiz editor.
- Click Add Element+
- Scroll down the Element options to Welcome.
- Click on the Welcome icon. The Welcome page editor will appear.
- Enter your text in the box. If you have an Essentials plan or higher, you can add images, videos, hyperlinks, and GIFs.
- Click Save to add the page to the start of your quiz.
- To view your welcome page, click Preview in the top-right corner.
How to add a welcome screen - Legacy create screen
- To start, create a new quiz or edit an existing one.
- From the Create screen, click Add page.
- Select Welcome page from the drop-down menu.
- Now add the custom content to your welcome screen. Depending on your FlexiQuiz plan type, you can add text, images, GIFs, audio, and hyperlinks.
- Once you are happy with your content, click Save.
- To see how your welcome page looks as a test-taker, click Preview on the top right.
You can edit or delete the welcome screen at any time.
Additional configuration options
If you have a FlexiQuiz Essentials plan or above, you can customize the style of your welcome page to match your organization’s branding and the theme of your quiz.
Adding a Logo
You can upload your company logo so it appears across all pages of your quiz.
To add your logo:
- Go to the Configure tab and select General from the left-hand menu.
- Click the Logo box.
- Select Browse to locate and upload your logo or image.
- Resize the logo if needed to fit your design.

Customizing the Start Quiz navigation button
The welcome screen includes a Start Quiz button, providing learners with a clear call to action before they begin.
Once selected, the quiz will start immediately, including any configured countdown timers.
You can customize both the text and color of the button to match your branding or preferred style.

Background images
You can style your welcome page with a background image. The image can appear behind your text or the quiz frame.
You can use the same images for all pages or add a custom image to the welcome page.
To add an image to the welcome page only:
- Go to the Configure tab and select Theme from the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to Background images.
- Tick the Display box next to Welcome page.
- Click Browse to upload your image. Once the image successfully uploads, it will appear next to the Browse button.
- Click Preview to see how the image looks on your page.
If the page style is set to Bordered, the image will appear behind the quiz frame.
If the page style is set to Classic, the image will appear behind the text.

Background colors
Instead of adding a background image, you can update the background colors.
The background colors will apply to all pages of your quiz or training materials.

Frequently asked questions
When does the timer start if I add a welcome page and a time limit to the quiz?
The timer starts when the learner clicks the Start Quiz button.

What information should I include on the Welcome page?
Depending on how you’ve configured your quiz or course, it can be helpful to include the following information on the welcome page:
i. Rules and guidelines:
Outline any important quiz rules, such as:
- no cheating,
- no switching tabs,
- or completing the assessment independently.
ii. Quiz title and description
Provide a brief introduction or overview of the quiz, assessment, or learning materials to help learners understand what to expect.
iii. Instructions
Include any important instructions, so that learners know what to expect and can focus on answering the questions: Here are some popular instructions.
- The number of questions in the quiz,
- Time limits for the entire quiz or individual pages,
- If the quiz opens in full-screen mode and switching tabs,
- Whether learners can return to previous pages,
- How scoring works and the passing requirements
Where does the Welcome page fit within a quiz or learning program?
The welcome page is the final screen learners see before starting the quiz or accessing the training materials.
Depending on how you configure your test with FlexiQuiz, the welcome page will come after the registration, access code entry, or payment pages.
Can I edit the welcome page after I publish the quiz?
Yes, you can edit the welcome page at any time.
- Return to the Create tab
- Click the edit page icon. You can now update the page's content.
- Click Save to add your new content to the quiz.
