Picture choice questions
Picture Choice is a multiple-choice question type that allows respondents to select the correct answer from a set of images, photos, or icons.
With FlexiQuiz, you can display images in small, medium, large, or extra-large sizes, ensuring they look great on any device, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
Picture-choice questions can be more engaging and visually appealing, making them ideal for interactive quizzes, lead generation, language learning, geography, icebreakers and much more.
How to add a picture choice question to your quiz
- To get started, open an existing quiz or create a new one and go to the Create screen.
- Click Add Element+.
- Select Picture Choice. You can either drag and drop the icon to the desired location in your quiz or click the icon to add it to the bottom of the current page.
- The question editor will open on the right-hand side of the screen. Enter your question in the Question box. If you have an Essentials plan or above, you can also include images, videos, and audio in your question.
- Scroll down to the Options section to add your answer choices.
- Click Choose Picture to upload an image for each answer option.
- To add a caption or label below an image, enter the text in the field next to the image.
- Select the checkbox next to the image that represents the correct answer.
- To change how the images are displayed, use the Display Size drop-down menu and choose Small, Medium, or Large.
- Set the number of points learners will receive for answering the question correctly.
- Click the Settings tab to configure the question's options.
- Click Save to add the Picture Choice question to your quiz.
• Required: Learners must share a response before they move to the next question or submit the quiz.
• Randomize options: Shuffle the order of the answer options.
• Set categories: Add the question to a category in your question bank.
• Show question feedback: Share custom feedback based on a right or wrong response.
Frequently asked questions
Can I allow respondents to select more than one image as a correct answer?
Yes, you can use the checkbox question type to allow users to select multiple images.
- From the Create screen, click Add Element+ and select Checkboxes.
- Enter your question in the Question box.
- Scroll down to options and click the arrow in the answer options box.
- Then click on the picture icon.
- Choose an image to upload. The image should be no more than 150 pixels wide by 150 pixels high.
- Add a tick next to the correct answer options.
- Set the number of points learners receive for a correct answer. You can award points for getting the whole answer right or points for each answer option.
- Click Save to add the question to your quiz.
Is partial credit possible if there are multiple correct images?
Yes, if you add images to the Checkboxes question type, you can award partial credit using Set option points. Explore the different ways you can award points on a question.
Best practices for adding images
The maximum file size for each image is 1 MB. You can reduce the size of the file using tools such as TinyPNG.
Allowable formats include JPEG, JPG, GMP, and PNG.
The recommended image size is 500 px wide. We recommend that all images be the same size for a professional-looking quiz.
