Assigning quizzes to a group

Groups is a FlexiQuiz LMS feature that lets you efficiently manage multiple learners and educational materials.

You can make a quiz and quickly share it with multiple learners who are part of a Group, such as a class, team or department.

In this guide, we explore the different ways you can share your quiz with a group.

Getting started

1. To start, either make a new quiz or choose an existing one.
2. Then, create the Group where you want to add the quiz. Learn more about building a Group.
3. Now choose how you want to assign the quiz to your group.

How to assign a quiz to a group on the Publish screen

1. Go to the relevant quiz or learning activity, then click the Publish tab.
2. Now, click on the Users and Groups box. The Users page opens, allowing you to assign Respondents or Groups.

3. To add the quiz to an existing Group, click Assign, then choose Groups from the drop-down menu. A list if groups linked to your FlexiQuiz account will appear.
4. Put a tick next to each group that you want to assign the quiz to.
5. Click Assign selected groups.

The quiz now appears in the list on the Groups tab.

All learners in the group who have a Respondent portal will be able to access the quiz when it is open.

How to assign a quiz from the Groups' dashboard

This option works well if you want to assign multiple quizzes to a group or email Respondents to notify them that a new quiz is available.

1. Log in to your FlexiQuiz account and select Groups from the top menu. The Groups dashboard will appear.
2. Now scroll down the table and click on the Group where you want to add a quiz.
3. The Group profile page appears. The Assigned quizzes box lists any learning activities and tests assigned to this group. To add a new quiz, click Assign quizzes.

4. A new window opens that lists all quizzes not assigned to this group. Click and highlight the quiz (or quizzes) that you want to assign.
5. Then click Assign selected quizzes.
6. Now you can assign the quiz or assign the quiz and email a notification to Respondents.
7. If you choose to send an email notification, a window will appear confirming how many respondents will receive an email. Click Assign and email users.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a quiz from a group?

Yes, you can remove a quiz from a group on the Publish screen or the Groups dashboard.

Once you remove a quiz from the Group, respondents cannot view or access it.

Any quiz results will still be available on the quiz analyze screen, but are not available as part of group reporting.

What happens if I close a quiz that is part of a Group?

If you close a quiz, learners will not be able to take the quiz.

If learners have already taken the test, they can log in to their Respondent portal to view their results.

Can a quiz be part of multiple groups?

Yes, you can add quizzes to multiple groups.
