How to make a quiz using your question bank
Creating a quiz with questions from your FlexiQuiz question bank is quick and easy.
You can organize your questions into categories and then choose how many questions you want to include from each one. FlexiQuiz will automatically select the required number of questions from each category.
For example, your FlexiQuiz question bank can store thousands of your questions in categories such as History, Geography, or Math. Then you can create a 30-question exam that randomly selects 10 questions from each category. This helps ensure every exam covers the same key topics while allowing learners to receive a different mix of questions.
This guide shows you the two different ways you can add questions from your bank to a quiz.
#1. Randomly pick questions by category
Every time a learner starts your quiz, the FlexiQuiz system randomly selects the required number of questions from the set category.
Therefore, each time someone takes your test, they could get a different set of questions.
- First, add your questions to the bank.
- Then create a new quiz or edit an existing one.
- From the Create screen, click Add Element+ and the list of question types will appear.
- Click on the Question bank tab. Your question bank will appear, which lists all your categories and the number of questions in each category.
- Go to each category you want to add to the quiz, and click on the 3 dots.
- From the drop-down menu, click add to quiz.
- A pop-up will appear for you to enter your requirments. In the Total questions box enter the number of questions you want to add from the category. In the page number box, enter the page you want to add the questions to.
- Click Add to confirm your selection.
- A blue box will appear on your quiz to show the category and number of questions requested from the category.
- To randomize the order of the questions, go to the Configure screen and scroll down to Randomize questions. You can randomize all questions on the quiz or questions and set pages.
#2. Add fixed questions to a quiz
You can add specific questions that are stored in your bank to your quiz. But the question will not include the category.
- From the Create screen, click Add Elements+ and choose the Question Bank tab.
- Then choose the Questions tab to list all questions in your bank.
- Click Filter to find questions by category.
- Scroll down the screen to find the relevant question.
- Click on the 3 dots and choose copy to quiz from the drop-down menu.
The question will now appear on your quiz.

How does the question bank work?
Each time someone starts your quiz, FlexiQuiz will randomly select the required number of questions from your question bank.
