Setting up two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an additional layer of security when accessing your FlexiQuiz account.

2FA can be enabled on all types of FlexiQuiz accounts, including Administrators, Trainers and Respondents, ensuring all quiz maker and respondent data is kept secure.

How to enable two-factor authentication

To set up 2FA, you need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile.

  1. Sign in to your FlexiQuiz account and select Settings from the top menu.
  2. Next, pick Password from the left-hand menu and scroll down to Two-factor authentication. button to enable two factor authentication on flexiquiz account
  3. Now press the button, Enable two-factor and a window will pop up that allows you to set up 2FA.
  4. From your authentication app, add a new account; you can usually do this by pressing the + symbol.
  5. Use your app to scan the QR code showing on the FlexiQuiz page.
  6. Then, on the FlexiQuiz page, enter the six-digit verification code that your authenticator app generates. FlexiQuiz two-factor authentication screen with a QR code
  7. To finish, press Confirm.

A pop up message will appear to confirm that two-factor authentication is set up on your account.

When you sign in to FlexiQuiz, just open your authentication app and enter a code along with your password.


Frequently asked questions

How do I log in to FlexiQuiz with 2FA?

Once two-factor verification is enabled for your FlexiQuiz account, you'll be required to provide a verification code each time you sign in.

  1. Log in to your FlexiQuiz account on any device as you usually would with your unique username and password. Then, you will be prompted to enter a verification code.
  2. So now go to your authenticator app and locate your FlexiQuiz account.
  3. Enter the six-digit verification on the FlexiQuiz authentication page and press Login.

How to I turn off two-factor authentication?

  1. Go to your Settings screen and select General from the left-hand menu. If 2FA is enabled, you will see the option to disable two-factor.
  2. Press Disable two-factor

A message will pop up to confirm that two-factor has been turned off.


I am an account Admin; how do I disable two-factor for other users?

  1. Sign in to your FlexiQuiz account and select Users from the top menu.
  2. How click on the relevant user to open their profile page.
  3. If the user has enabled 2FA, a button to disable two-factor will appear. Press the Disable two-factor button.

What happens if I am locked out?

If you've got a new phone or do not have access to your authenticator app, you can ask an account Admin to manually disable two-factor for you.

You can contact us if you are the main Admin with no other Admins linked to your account.


Can Trainers and Respondents set up two-factor?

All Trainers can set up two-factor authentication using the steps above.

Respondents can also set up two-factor if the Settings screen is enabled on their portal. You can check if a Respondent can access the Settings screen by going to your Settings screen and selecting General from the left-hand menu. The box Display settings screen must be ticked.
