اعلم رحمك الله أنه يجب علينا تعلم أربع مسائل

In the name of Allaah, the Most Merciful the Bestower of Mercy.

Know, may Allaah have mercy upon you, that it is obligatory upon you to have knowledge of four matters:

Only the students of knowledge

Only the most ignorant laymen

Only the rich

Only the men

Only the women

All of the Muslim Ummah is being addressed, including, scholars, students, young, old, male, female, etc.

Acknowledging the great status and noble manners of Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) in history, but NOT believing he was sent as a Messenger from Allaah

Having love for the Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) for the sake of Allaah

Having love for the Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) for the sake of his tribe

Innovating a celebration for the birthday Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم)

What proof from the religion did the author bring for the four obligatory matters mentioned in the introduction?

Hadeeth Jibreel

سورة العصر : Soorah al-'Asr

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَوَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُالْغَفُورُ : Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; (Soorah Al-Mulk 67:2)

إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللّهِ الإِسْلاَمُ : Truly, the religion with Allaah is Islaam (Soorah Aali Imraan 3:19).

What is the ruling on swearing by other than Allaah (عز وجل)?

OBLIGATORY (WAAJIB): Because of our sins we cannot swear by Allaah (عز وجل), so we must swear by something great from the creation

RECOMMENDED (MUSTAHAB): If someone swears by other than Allaah (عز وجل), they earn a good deed.

PERMISSIBLE (MUBAH): We can swear by other than Allaah (عز وجل) if we like, because in the Qur'aan Allaah swears by some of the creation

DISLIKED (MAKROOH): No sin upon the one who swears by other than Allaah (عز وجل), but it is better to swear by Allaah only

FORBIDDEN (HARAAM): It is not permissible for the creation to swear by other than Allaah (عز وجل). If a person needs to swear, he is to only swear by Allaah or be quiet. It is the right of Allaah for Him to swear by whatever He wills from the creation. But the slaves are only allowed to swear by Allaah.
