Sample (Basic/Essentials)

The Writing Skills Test assesses your ability to:

1. produce clear, concise, logical and grammatically correct written material in English;
2. convey information in English accurately and obtain desired results;
3. use a variety of writing styles and approaches in English as appropriate to the circumstances and intended readership.

The test consists of 106 questions divided into five subtests and assesses the following:
Subtest 1: Spelling
Subtest 2: Grammar
Subtest 3: Vocabulary
Subtest 4: Punctuation and Capitalization
Subtest 5: Sentence sequencing

Time to complete assessment : 90 minutes

Results:
You will receive a result of either non demonstrated, level 1, 2, or 3 on this test. Each correct answer is worth one point. No points are deducted for incorrect answers.
Non demonstrated: 0 to 35   
Level 1: 36 to 61   
Level 2: 62 to 83   
Level 3: 84 to 106
